Welcome to Weekend Writing Warriors (www.wewriwa.com) where writers submit 8 – 10 lines of their work for others to read and comment. Please visit the site for snippets from other authors. Please note that the book “A Love More Precious Than Diamonds” is an erotic romance.
Danny has enjoyed a three week fling with Gem, the much older woman, who has captivated him with her sparkling personality, like the diamonds she wears. It is with the full consent of her husband, who is impotent, and is away on business. Gem likes to be spanked, and Danny obliges her. On the night that her husband is due to return, they say their goodbyes, and Danny hopes that they will be able to continue their relationship after her husband’s return. The first line is Gem’s, and I have been a little creative with the punctuation.
“Goodbye my little puppy, you have grown up into a big, sexy dog.”
“Gem, I…”
She put her finger against my lips. “Don’t say anything, Danny, there is no need for words.”
Did she know that I was about to say that I loved her? Is that why she stopped me?
She promised that either she or Victor would call me and arrange when we would meet again, and we parted. I had a sick feeling in my gut; afraid that Victor’s return would destroy the relationship that Gem and I had developed over the previous three weeks. I suppose I was naïve and gullible enough to think that Gem had similar feelings towards me as I did towards her, and I was foolish enough to think that our relationship would continue as it had before. I was about to learn a very painful lesson.
Danny was a 21-year-old student when he met Gem in London in 1992. She was the most beautiful, sensuous and sexy woman he had ever met, and she was some years older and married to a wealthy businessman. So why did she pick him from all the men she might have chosen?
Their affair was brief and dramatic, and introduced Danny to sexual passion, the like of which he had never experienced before. It also introduced him to the kind of woman who desired control and discipline in her life. Even though the affair lasted just a few weeks, it changed his life and changed his perception of the type of woman he wanted.
Twenty years later he met a young woman and, for the first time in his life, he fell in love; but fate was not kind, and the events of twenty years earlier came back to haunt him as he realised that he might lose the woman of his dreams. He was powerless to act. He could not rewrite his life history.

Poor guy. I suspect his lesson will be more painful than any of the bondage or sado-masochism.

I think so too, Ed. (By the way, although I use the term BDSM to describe the book, I don’t really write about bondage or SM. I’m a lightweight. Spanking and submission/domination is about as far as I go when writing. Just thought I would clear that up at this point. I wouldn’t want to mislead anyone.)

No, he was like a lamb to the slaughter, wasn’t he. However, eventually, some good comes of this doomed affair.
